Who Says I can't Buy Love?

You can't buy loyalty, they say.
I bought it, though, the other day.
You can't buy friendship tried and true
Well just the same, I bought that too.
I made my bid and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small.
I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start.

If you think these things are not for sale,
Buy a brown-eyed puppy with a wagging tail.

Please Tell Canada to End Its Shameful Seal Slaughter

I received an email about this and I am sharing these information from PETA because these animals cannot speak up. I am appalled that there are people who would do such gruesome deeds to these small and helpless creatures.

For thousands of years, harp seals have migrated from Greenland down the coast of Canada, stopping each spring to give birth on the ice floes. Every year, a band of fishers descends on the ice to beat hundreds of thousands of seals to death and sell the animals' pelts on the international fur market. Sealers routinely hook baby seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth and drag them across the ice, often while the animals are still conscious. Many of the seals killed in the massacre are only a few weeks old.

Baby seals stand no chance against club-wielding seal hunters—pups must look on as fellow seals are bludgeoned to death only to then meet the same bloody fate. The commercial seal slaughter is an off-season profit venture for the fishing industry, and it accounts for less than 1 percent of Newfoundland's economy. The seal slaughter is not a subsistence activity for native peoples—Inuit sealing accounts for only about 3 percent of the annual slaughter.

Sealers crush baby seals' skulls in before they skin them. Virtually all seals killed in Canada's annual slaughter are younger than 3 months old.
The price of seal fur is plummeting as international outrage against the seal slaughter rises. The U.S. and the European Union have banned seal products, and world leaders such as President Barack Obama and His Holiness The Dalai Lama have denounced the massacre.

Sealers routinely hook seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the fur. Then they drag the seal across the ice—in many cases while the seal is still conscious.

The annual seal slaughter will continue unless people like you speak out and take action to stop it, so please add your voice to the global outcry against Canada's shameful seal massacre. Please write to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and Canadian ambassadors around the world to demand that they bring the massacre to an immediate end.

Why is Canada Killing Seals?

Veterinarians and Department of Fisheries officers have found that many seals' skulls are not adequately crushed, which means that those seals may be skinned alive.

Most people would agree that there is something terribly wrong with shooting and smashing in the skulls of baby seals, yet despite international outrage, the Canadian government allows sealers to beat and skin hundreds of thousands of these gentle creatures every year. So why is Canada killing seals?

The seal slaughter exists because of the overall demand for fur. During Canada's annual war on seals, sealers routinely hook live seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the fur, then they drag the seals across the ice. Many of these gentle creatures may not even have eaten their first solid meal or taken their first swim before they are slaughtered for their skin.

In 2009, the European Union voted to end the sale of seal products, and the U.S. Senate unanimously passed U.S. Senate Resolution 84, calling for an immediate end to the annual seal slaughter. It's time for Canada to wake up! And with the help of caring people like you, we can put an end to the slaughter once and for all.

Born to Die....

OMG!  It breaks my heart seeing the videos below. Just like how I cried and howled "Please do something!" when I saw the videos of how China harvests fur. I wish I could do something for them... I am literally crying right now. I can't stop crying...  T_T   And as I type these words.... my sight is so blurry tears and images of these sad doggie eyes.

You know how much I love my dogs.... Their unconditional love warms my heart everyday. .... and I can't stop this feeling of sadness. I am sad because there are people who treats these animals like nothing. Tsk. Tsk.... what a waste of life indeed. I hope I can do something for them.
"Every year, an estimated 5 to 10 million pets are euthanized in animal shelters in the United States. Why? Because there is no place for them to go, no homes for them. Yet, we continue to let animals roam freely, unneutered and producing more unwanted animals. Their offspring often go from birth to the shelter where, if they are not adopted before their 6 days are up, they will be killed. That is where the expression "born to die" applies; newly born into this world only to be put to death. What a tragic waste of life. There is a solution for this overpopulation problem, and that is to spay and neuter."

How to Groom a Shih Tzu Dog

Moimoi is already 9 months old. Last year, I use to bring him to Tiendesitas for professional grooming since I don't know how to groom or cut his face hair. It costs me Php400.00 everytime. Adopting a shih tzu dog requires one to have patience and time to maintain this breed of dog. Unlike my Labrador, moimoi requires me to comb his hair everyday because I decided to keep his hair long. For his bathing and grooming, I usually do it every weekends. It takes me half hour to bath him and another half hour blow-drying his hair.

I was thankful these past weeks because Sweetypie was here to help me with bathing MoiMoi. Before bathing, I cut/trim his face hair. I do this to prevent his hair covering his eyes. Although a teddy bear cut is nice, I plan to keep his hair long so I can brush him everyday. Stress reliever na din yun for me. Sana maging ganeto kaganda ang hair nya in a few years.

I found some helpful videos on the net on how to achieve this perfect shih tzu grooming. Moimoi's current shampoo is so fragrant that it stays for one week. It also keeps him so huggable and his hair so smooth. I took some pictures and will post it once available.

Meanwhile here are the videos on How to Groom a Shih Tzu.

Moimoi, my Happy Happy Shih Tzu

Last year, we bought a shih tzu from my colleague. I begged my hubby to buy me one para naman I have kasama sa bahay while he is away. It was such a fun when I posted on FB a poll for his name. My friends voted on choices like Boknoy, Mikmik or Potchie. And then I named him Moimoi. He was such a cute and happy puppy.
who says playing while eating should not be done?
He likes to sleep infront of my computer screen on top of my table whenever I slack around the house and just surf the net all day.
Baby, stop droooling!
During my times of sadness because Sweetiepie was not here with me, Moimoi was my comfort and stress reliever. One time, I went home from work feeling stressed and so sad, while watching tv and thinking about my hubbby, tears started falling. When Moimoi saw that I was silently weeping, he did the sweetest thing of just sitting beside me, putting his paws on my lap and like a small child comforting me turned his happy happy face  on! It made me smile!

Isn't he soooo adorable?
He is part of my family now. Sweetiepie♥ loves him so much they play catch ball everyday. My mom and brother loves MoiMoi too that they wanted him to stay in Cavite na with them. Ayaw ko nga! Paano naman ako? Wala ako kasama sa apartment ko!?
