The New Face of Makati Medical Center

Do you like hospitals? I don't! I feel threatened whenever I see a hospital. I fear going to a hospital. Napaka depressing ng feeling. Partly because, sabe ng mama ko, I grew up in a hospital. Isa akong hikaing bata at walang linggo na di ako nasusugod sa Hospital ng Maynila. Last April,... I visited an old building along Buendia which I used to frequent dati. I can help but be amazed....

Dear Makati Medical Center,

Dati, 7 years ago ata.... ganito pa itsura mo...bukod sa panaka nakang pag bisita ko sayu due to Tonsilitis at Flu, dalawang major event sa buhay ko ang nasaksihan ng Emergency lobby mo. Una, nung sumugod sa ospital mo ang mama ko for an operation that threatened her life. Second was when you admitted me for a torn ACL accident. I was impressed by your cheerful nurses and very helpful doctors even by then.

Ngayun.... April 2011.... Nag pa facelift ka na pala?
Impressive na ang lobby mo sobrah! May Seattle's Best Coffee, Burger King at Dairy Queen pa. Nakakita din ako ng David's Salon! Di ko tuloy alam kung nasa airport ba ko, mall o hospital nung binisita kita.

You know naman na I hate hospitals because of their smell ... but this time kape na ng Seattle's ang naaamoy ko sa lobby nyo MMC ha.

Yes, impressive ka. Sobrah. Next year, in Lord's due time, papareserve ako sa isa sa delivery rooms mo MMC ha.  ^^

Silver Surfer Ride at Zoom Tree Top Adventure Quezon City

Silver Surfer ride
I talked about the Drixine event I attended. I've met some new friends and got to experience the thrill of riding a zipline. Here are some of the videos Carl from The WebMagazine took at the event. The Drixine event was held at Zoom Tree Top Adventure at Circulo Verde, Quezon City.
Me alone! @_@

Silver Surfer is a ride where in you stand on a hanging platform suspended less than 100 feet up which serves as your "surfboard" much like Silver Surfer. You can feel the rush during unexpected stops as you swing back and forth. It will cost you Php300.00 to ride this on a regular day.

Superman Ride

Below are the prices for the rides. Circulo Verde Zoom Top Adventure was not that hard to find. Just go straight Calle Industria near Eastwood City and you will find an open field somewhat being developed into a posh subdivision.
Superman Ride - 400 php
Silver Surfer Ride - 300 php
Parachute Fall Ride - 200 php

Zoom TreeTop Adventure is located in Circulo Verde along Calle Industria.
Contact no: 928-4595

I was screaming for my dear life while on ride the "surfer". Very funny cause you can hear the panic in my voice when the motorized ride started! >,<

Thanks Carl for these unforgettable videos! ^^

The World's Tallest and Fastest Roller Coaster

2 months ago, I blogged about going back to Star City and refusing to try the rides. I fear that my mature and weak heart cannot stand these rides anymore. See how mother effing crazy it is below.

Today, I saw a cool video of someone who rode the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster. Kahit sa video lang na pa ..... "Ohhhh nooooo! Shiiiiiiiiiit!...." ako eh.

At the end of the ride and you still survived...... mapapa sigaw ka talaga ng .... "Oh My Gawd!... We made it!!"
Arms down, head back and hold on. With only 28 seconds, the Kingda Ka may not be very long, but it's bound to leave you wide eyed and twitching. Located at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, USA, it's the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. The train is launched by a hydraulic launch mechanism to 128 miles per hour (206 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. At the end of the launch track, the train climbs the main top hat tower, reaching a height of 456 feet (139 meters)! At a cost of US$25 million, the Kingda Ka opened to the public on May 21, 2005, was closed several times for different technical problems and was also struck by lightning in early May 2009.

Would you ride this roller coaster for the adrenaline rush?

Star City, Roxas Boulevard, Manila

Last week, an officemate gave us free tickets to a performance by Lisa Macuja and Freestyle at Aliw Theater. It was quite an adventure going against the heavy rain on a Friday night to be able to reach Roxas Blvrd. We had a hard time reaching the show which started 7pm so we end up watching only the final ensemble. Freestyle sang Single Ladies while the ballet dancers were very colorfully and gracefully dancing to the upbeat tune.
After the show, the free Aliw Tickets also entitled us for an all-ride-and-entrance pass to Star City!!.Yey! It was actually Hon's first time to be in Star City so we had fun discovering the rides and sights.

I wanted to try the Bumper Cars but the line was too long.

Hon wanted us to go inside the Dungeon.... but I was too scared so he ended up walking this alone.

Then... there was this Mummy .... we went together inside... but all the time I kept my eye shut while screaming.... nyahahaha...

The classic Wild River Log was still there...

But the best one is the Snow World.... we had to pay P100 additional entrance fee to Snow World...but it was worth it!... We had fun sliding down the ice. Unfortunately, we dont have pics as I was too afraid my point and shoot camera couldn't stand the cold.
I didn't try the rides below.... I'm too scaredy!... ^_^

My New Toy.... Ipod Touch 3Gen

Gone are the days of my addiction to texting. I love the freedom of not having to call or text here in the US. I was not obliged to reply to anyone because I did not get my phone's roaming activated. At the same time, I'm loving my new toy. I bought it this week and this baby keeps me awake everynight playing Plants vs. Zombies!. ^__^ Today, I got it uploaded with alot of apps, games and books. Now I know that I will not get bored on the 18 hrs. travel back to Manila. I wish the battery life is longer though.... Maybe because I've been wi-fi-ing the whole time.

Training Abroad

2 weeks to go and I'll be boarding a plane again to Missouri. Love, love, love travelling especially if it's free! ^_^  I will be training for a new system. I love learning.

Another Sunset Sighting

Another Sunset Sighting in Missouri.

Renaissance Hotel - Missouri

Sharing pics of the Renaissance Hotel experience I had before. It is one of the best hotels that I've been to. This one is near Lambert Airport Missouri. The hotel room rate was $135.00 per night.
I had this room for myself. Two queen sized beds? Yes!... For 2 weeks I had the luxury of choosing if I wanna sleep on the other one near the bathroom or the one near the window. Those white sheets are sooooooo great to sleep into. They are changed everyday. Everyday was always a challenge to bring yourself up and get to work. Yes, those are my things.... Kinda messy because this was taken hours after we touched down. I was arranging my things.

The immaculate bathroom with bathtub.

This is the view outside the window. A view of St. Louis' Highway 70.

Giant Sculptures

I dunno what these giant stone sculptures are infront of the Emr headquarters office in Missouri but since the company is a mechanical and engineering firm, I guess these are motors.... or parts of motors. The first one was taken during summer while the other was during winter. Cool eh!? ^_^

Potipot Adventure with the FA Team

I photo blogged last month about a weekend I spent with Sese, Charm and my former teammates. It was a weekend well spent. We went to Potipot - a small island in the province of Candelaria, Zambales. From the scorching heat of the city, we rented a van and drove more than 6 hours all the way to Zambales through NLEX.
After many hours of falling asleep and waking up to the team's laughter...... we finally arrived at the Dawal Resort. The team rented an over night room good for 6 people. The resort is clean and not crowded. The place is very cozy and great for relaxation.
But this is really not what we came here for. We came for that island not far away.

To get to the island, we rented a boat good for 6 people for Php400.00 pesos back and forth na yun. And 100.00 each as entrance to the Potipot Island.

This is a first time in this island for everyone of us. Charm has this goal to get a photograph of the Sunset and Sunrise so we agreed to go the island immediately after we arrived. We are not gonna waste a sunset with the look of that lovely white beach.

We were not dissapointed kahit na sobrang layo ng nilakbay namen para makarating lang dito. It was a journey worth all the hardships. The small island pristine. The water so clear.

And the sunset!!.... Oh that beautiful sunset......
I will never forget that for the rest of my life.
