Is it just me, or is it because I was scaredy obsessed watching Final Destination, Doomsday, Independence Day, The Day after Tomorrow and 2012 movies..... is it just me realizing the constant news about volcanoes being active, earthquakes, tsunamis changing earth's landscapes, sinkholes, and weather changes...  

….The "DISASTERS" that are coming.... the military and "GOVERNMENT" knows about them... and there's a lot of SAFE AREAS in this WORLD that they could begin moving the POPULATION TO NOW... but they are not doing anything they want those major population centers WIPED OUT... so that the few that are left will be more easily CONTROLLABLE…. (transmition lost) 

BBC's "Toughest Place to Be" - A must watch for Every Filipino

This weekend, I was able to spare some time browsing the net and came upon some thought provoking videos about a program in the British Channel BBC titled The Toughest Place to be. I watched all six videos with almost 10 minutes each and was appalled with Philippine's condition. The second worker was sent to Manila, Philippines to perform his work as a bus driver.

His name was Josh West from London. After watching, I researched for the videos online and found out that BBC is only showing the programme in London. I wish these videos could also be shown in the Philippines to make all Filipinos realize how revolting it is to live in the conditions of being a very poor Filipino. I was deeply heartbroken watching it and wish that by sharing this videos would give our corrupt government a jolt and make them see how oppressed the poor are. I myself came from a poor family but got educated and is now living more decent than most Pinoys living in slums. After watching, I reflected much on my life and made me think that with all the challenges I face right now, I am still lucky than most people. BBC's Toughest Place to be - A Bus Driver

Three British workers. Experienced. Qualified. And looking for a challenge. They are on a quest to find out what it would be like to do their job under some of the toughest conditions on the planet. 

These British workers travel to countries thousands of miles away, to live with local people, and do their own jobs, under some of the toughest conditions on earth. 

Angie is a paramedic going to Guatemala, Josh a bus driver going to the Philippines and Suzanne is a midwife going to Liberia.

In the second program in the series where British workers accept the challenge to do their jobs in some of the toughest conditions in the world, London bus driver Josh West heads to Manila, the capital of the Philippines and the most densely populated city on Earth.  Josh will be driving a Jeepney, a colourfully decorated, adapted jeep which has no power steering, dodgy lights and an uncomfortable seat.

His host is Rogelio Castro and together they brave the chaos of the streets. It's a hair-raising and often hilarious ride, but Josh also learns about the incredible over-crowding and devastating poverty of Manila. He forms a strong bond with Rogelio and is moved by the daily struggle of an ordinary Filipino working to feed his family.

It's an emotional roller coaster and Josh returns a changed man, aware that all the separates his life from Rogelio's is the country he happened to be born in.

Who is the actor behind Neville Longbottom?

Neville was the fictional character in the Harry Potter books and movies. He was a pure-blood wizard who began school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was sorted into Gryffindor house. His parents, Alice and Frank, were well-respected and members of the first Order of the Phoenix. Shortly after Neville's birth, they were tortured to insanity, leaving Neville to be raised by his grandmother.

We remembered him as this cute toothed boy who lost his toad - Trevor, the first time he arrived in Hogwarts.

Today as I was browsing the net, I saw the first photo of Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) who will star in the reboot story of the successful franchise film by Sam Raimi starring Tobey Maguire, Spider-Man.

"Spartacus" has a New Leading Man

Yes. You heard it right.... Spartacus ... one of my favorite US tv series has a new leading actor. Spartacus himself will be replaced with a fresh and hunkier gladiator under the name of Liam McIntyre.

Just days after Starz announced they were planning to recast the title role, left vacated by Andy Whitfield, who has been battling cancer, a rep for the cable channel confirmed to Access Hollywood that Australian actor Liam McIntyre has won the part.

Liam, 28, will take over the role, which Andy left due to his cancer battle, as the network proceeds with Season 2 of the bloody drama, which begins shooting this spring.

"Since no one can really replace Andy, we realized that we should instead find an actor who can truly lead 'Spartacus' forward," Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. "It was important to us to have Andy endorse the idea of recasting this part, which he did in the same heroic manner that he's dealt with his whole ordeal. And that, coupled with our fortune in finding a young actor with the gladiator credentials and the acting ability of Liam, makes it easier for us to keep this hit franchise going."

Season 2 of Spartacus will air starring Lucy Lawless and John Hannah beginning Friday, January 21, 2011. It will be titled "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena". I can't wait to watch it!

What happened to Aaron Carter?

I used to have a major major love for Backstreet Boy's Nick Carter. But do you remember Aaron Carter? He is Nick's little brother who sang songs like "Crush on You" and "I'm gonna Miss you Forever" in a cartoony-chipmunky way but still managed to be in the charts. He was the Justin Bieber of the1997 era. ^__^



He dated Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, was engaged with a beauty queen turned Playboy model and was also arrested in 2008 for speeding and possession of marijuana.

He used to be this cute!

But last week, October 5 he posted in twitter a ripped, flexed and scary shirtless physique with the comment, 'I've been at Johnny Wright's compound working on my mind, music, and body for a new album release!'

Major Major!...... Major Disaster on Venus Raj's Answer

I was not able to watch the live streaming of Ms. Universe 2010 since I was at work but I have my prayers and is rooting for our bet Ms. Venus Raj. She seems to be a very confident and talented lady...... not until she answered the final question and answer portion for the Top 5 candidates.

Here’s the question: What is the one biggest mistake that you have made in your life and what did you do to make it right?

And here’s her answer:

“You know what, sir, in my 22 years of existence I can say that there’s nothing major, major problem that I’ve done in my life because I’m very confident with my family with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I’m here. Thank you, thank you so much!”

Anyhooo.... I am so major major proud of her!  ^_^  Philippines 4th placer in the Ms. Universe Pageant!. Congrats Ms. Venu Raj!  The last time Philippines won a major award in the Ms. Universe Pageant was 1999 with Ms. Mirriam Quiambao as 1st placer for Ms. Botswana. In fairness, Venus Raj only shows that she has a positive outlook in life that whatever problem or mistake she went through, she never considered it as a hindrance.

I would be nervous too if I had to answer that same question..... but I would like to share the answer from a friend in FB....

Twilight vs. Vampire Chronicles

Vampire Mania much!....How do today’s blood suckers stack up to those from the past, like Dracula, Angel, Viktor, Akasha and Lestat? I say, Edward and the Cullens are losers. Glittery vampires?!...
For starters, I am an Anne Rice fan but that didn't stop me from buying the Twilight series written by Stephanie Meyer. I have read the Twilight series. Grueling all four books! It came to me as boring while I found the Vampire Chronicles exceptionally beautiful written literature. Once you get hold of a Vampire Chronicles novel, you will get transported to a different world and a Millenia of history.

Queen Akasha and Lestat

The Vampire Chronicles have original and interesting main storyline(s) plus many, many interesting and colourful histories on the side. Such the story of Louis and Claudia, then Lestat becoming a rock star for the fun of breaking the rules as extremely as possible and happens to wake the vampire queen. And as for the "side storylines", more or less side those of as in fact these are the very bases to the other ones; Lestat's entire mortal life, his and Nicolas's story, the story of the Twins, Marius's story... There's so much and indepth in the Chronicles and it all links together in one way or another.

While Twilight is a teen fanfiction and less thought written by an inexperienced writer as compared to Anne Rice. There is only one storyline about an impossible high school romance between a human-ordinary-always-smirking-girl and a "vegan" vampire.

With all these hype in Manila about Twilight: Eclipse movie showing and getting blockbuster all time high... I can't help but feel dismayed. I want my vamps bloodthirsty, scary and evil and not de-masculinized! Edward looks gay in glitters! That reminds me, I need to finish Sophie K's novels and go back to Anne Rice's. oh why! Why did she have to become spiritually awakened and stop writing dark gothic literatures!? I like her evil.

Tuesday Varga's Rock Star Wedding

Have you seen the cutest, sweetest, and rock star effect na Pinoy wedding of the year? I've been watching Coy Placido and Izel Sarangelo's (Tuesday Vargas) wedding in Boracay over and over and it never fails to make me smile. Weddings are on the top of my "Happy Thoughts" list along with chocolates and vanilla ice cream. The videographer "Mayad Studios" are awesome. Ganda ng video. *Note to Self.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: HD Trailer

Yesterday, Warner Bros. released the official trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I watched the high def trailer here and lost my excitement for Twilight (which opens tomorrow June 30 here in Manila) because I was reminded of what epic really means. I have been a Harry Potter fanatic since the first book came out 10 years ago and when I saw this HP7 trailer ....muntik na ko mapa "Wingardium Leviosa!" ^_^

The battle scene from Lord of the Rings: The return of the King was very epic. I wonder how HP7 will compare once the movie release on November 2010.

In one scene, Voldemort grabs Harry's face and malevolently hisses "Why do you live?" And Harry responds, "Because I have something worth living for." I ssooooooo like that scene!

There are some scenes that are notable. Now, I know my bestfriend Mae is not a Harry Potter fan... but I'm sure she will be once she sees this final movie!

I woke up today grumpy. My work schedule is loaded. I have a long list of To-Dos. And I am short of allowance for the week already! This is really not a good week.

But then, I saw this video off the net. Jimmy Kimmel's 10 minute comedy skit about the Handsome Men's Club really made my day!.... How can't it be? It was a video with the most telegenic faces on Hollywood. Sinkhole in Guatemala: How the hell did that happened?!

 This sinkhole appeared last sunday in a street intersection of Ciudad de Guatemala. 

A sinkhole is a natural depression caused by the removal of underground soil by water. Usually, it happens when the substrate is formed by limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds or any other rock that is easily eroded by water streams. The process could be slow, but sometimes the land just cracks open without notice. In this case, it happened suddenly, swallowing an entire house. The cause: Massive underground water torrents created by tropical storm Agatha.

Sinkholes' size ranges from low terrain depressions to hundred of meters. Unlike the similar sinkhole that killed two teens in 2007, there seems to be no victims. At least one local newspaper is reporting one person dead, but the authorities have not confirmed it. Some neighbors claim that a whole three-story building and a house fell into the hole.

 

Holey Shit!.... That hole is sooooo big!.... Reports say it is 200 feet deep and a 6 story house fell into the hole! 


I wonder if they will turn that into a big garbage hole to dump their country's waste or use it as a hole to dump dead enemies like King Leonidas did in 300?

Wentworth Miller in Resident Evil: Afterlife Movie

Found out that Prison Break star Wentworth Miller will be playing the role of STARS agent Chris Redfield for the film Resident Evil: Afterlife. The movie will be released to theaters on September 10, 2010 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D.
