The New Face of Makati Medical Center

Do you like hospitals? I don't! I feel threatened whenever I see a hospital. I fear going to a hospital. Napaka depressing ng feeling. Partly because, sabe ng mama ko, I grew up in a hospital. Isa akong hikaing bata at walang linggo na di ako nasusugod sa Hospital ng Maynila. Last April,... I visited an old building along Buendia which I used to frequent dati. I can help but be amazed....

Dear Makati Medical Center,

Dati, 7 years ago ata.... ganito pa itsura mo...bukod sa panaka nakang pag bisita ko sayu due to Tonsilitis at Flu, dalawang major event sa buhay ko ang nasaksihan ng Emergency lobby mo. Una, nung sumugod sa ospital mo ang mama ko for an operation that threatened her life. Second was when you admitted me for a torn ACL accident. I was impressed by your cheerful nurses and very helpful doctors even by then.

Ngayun.... April 2011.... Nag pa facelift ka na pala?
Impressive na ang lobby mo sobrah! May Seattle's Best Coffee, Burger King at Dairy Queen pa. Nakakita din ako ng David's Salon! Di ko tuloy alam kung nasa airport ba ko, mall o hospital nung binisita kita.

You know naman na I hate hospitals because of their smell ... but this time kape na ng Seattle's ang naaamoy ko sa lobby nyo MMC ha.

Yes, impressive ka. Sobrah. Next year, in Lord's due time, papareserve ako sa isa sa delivery rooms mo MMC ha.  ^^

Sign of the Times: UFO Sightings All Over the World

Is it just me, or is it because I was scaredy obsessed watching Final Destination, Doomsday, Independence Day, The Day after Tomorrow and 2012 movies..... is it just me realizing the constant news about volcanoes being active, earthquakestsunamis changing earth's landscapes, sinkholes, and weather changes...

….The "DISASTERS" that are coming.... the military and "GOVERNMENT" knows about them... and there's a lot of SAFE AREAS in this WORLD that they could begin moving the POPULATION TO NOW... but they are not doing anything they want those major population centers WIPED OUT... so that the few that are left will be more easily CONTROLLABLE…. BBC's "Toughest Place to Be" - A must watch for Every Filipino

This weekend, I was able to spare some time browsing the net and came upon some thought provoking videos about a program in the British Channel BBC titled The Toughest Place to be. I watched all six videos with almost 10 minutes each and was appalled with Philippine's condition. The second worker was sent to Manila, Philippines to perform his work as a bus driver.

His name was Josh West from London. After watching, I researched for the videos online and found out that BBC is only showing the programme in London. I wish these videos could also be shown in the Philippines to make all Filipinos realize how revolting it is to live in the conditions of being a very poor Filipino. I was deeply heartbroken watching it and wish that by sharing this videos would give our corrupt government a jolt and make them see how oppressed the poor are. I myself came from a poor family but got educated and is now living more decent than most Pinoys living in slums. After watching, I reflected much on my life and made me think that with all the challenges I face right now, I am still lucky than most people. Watch the videos below and make sure to finish all six and let me know what you think and feel about being a Filipino.

BBC's Toughest Place to be - A Bus Driver

Three British workers. Experienced. Qualified. And looking for a challenge. They are on a quest to find out what it would be like to do their job under some of the toughest conditions on the planet.
These British workers travel to countries thousands of miles away, to live with local people, and do their own jobs, under some of the toughest conditions on earth.
Angie is a paramedic going to Guatemala, Josh a bus driver going to the Philippines and Suzanne is a midwife going to Liberia.

In the second program in the series where British workers accept the challenge to do their jobs in some of the toughest conditions in the world, London bus driver Josh West heads to Manila, the capital of the Philippines and the most densely populated city on Earth.  Josh will be driving a Jeepney, a colourfully decorated, adapted jeep which has no power steering, dodgy lights and an uncomfortable seat.

His host is Rogelio Castro and together they brave the chaos of the streets. It's a hair-raising and often hilarious ride, but Josh also learns about the incredible over-crowding and devastating poverty of Manila. He forms a strong bond with Rogelio and is moved by the daily struggle of an ordinary Filipino working to feed his family.

It's an emotional roller coaster and Josh returns a changed man, aware that all the separates his life from Rogelio's is the country he happened to be born in.

How to respond to Annoying questions?

What is the most annoying question that you have been asked lately?  Mine was... "Biglaan ang wedding mo ah, pregnant ka?". Another question that I consider so effing annoying is ..."So, kelan kayo gagawa ng baby?" Tapos dadagdagan pa ng... "Ay, gumawa ka na para makahabol."

Ow em gee! @_@  I didn't know that marriage was a contest? Para ba itong Amazing Race na dapat paunahan makafinish ng challenges sa pitstop like securing the best groom or having the best wedding or getting pregnant the fastest?

Yes, this is the dragonessa in me.
Syet! Lest you would like to see the dragonessa in me... dont effing bring up those questions. My priorities are different from yours brotha'. Hindi lahat ng tao nagpapakasal because pregnant na si babae o pikot si lalake. I got married because I feel it was the right time!

Syet!... eff! eff! eff! and another syet! Why is it that Pinoys are so incosiderate and insensitive? Why can't all Pinoys know that there are certain topics na di dapat tinatanong sa mga kakilala nila else they'll get them upset or be considered nosy!

Why are some people in my life so feelingerong close and they don't even know when to ask the right questions. You need to know that some questions regarding age, weight, religion, salaries and how much people paid on things are considered way too personal! People get annoyed and bothered even if the person asking is their family.

Nasanay kase tayo sa kulturang Pilipino. These are some of the traits that I would like us to evetually get rid of. Being so chismoso and nagmamarunong sa buhay ng iba. Hindi ko tinatanong ang opinyon mo so keep your comments to your self. Magkaiba tayo ng priorities sa buhay ok so stop telling me what to do.

Finally, my husband and I will get pregnant when we feel the time is right. Case closed.

Meanwhile.... here are some of the most annoying questions and how to best answer them.

Q: Do you have a boyfriend yet?
A: “I’m juggling so many hot guys right now that it’s going to be a while before I decide to tie myself down.”

Q: When are you two going to have kids?
A: “We’re way too busy enjoying the honeymoon phase to think about that yet.”

Q: Did you lose weight?
A: “Thanks, it must just be a good week for me!”

Q: How much is your rent?
A: “I know, this place is fabulous. I’m so lucky to have gotten a really good deal on it. How’s your apartment?”

Q: How much do you make?
A: “I don’t really worry about my salary. It’s more important that I love my job.”

Q: Where’s that bag/top/pair of kick-ass pumps from?
A: “Oh this? I’ve had it for so long I can’t remember anymore.”

Q: You look so tired. (Okay, not really a question, just a beyond rude observation no one should ever make.)
A: “Actually, me and [insert name of your hook-up/boyfriend/husband here] were up kind of late last night. But it was sooo worth it.” Follow up with your best If-you-know-what-I-mean face.

The best way to answer...... is to answer without actually answering. Be pleasant but vague.

Thoughts to Ponder About Priorities

I was asked today by someone if I live na in the US.... I answered no and asked her what made her think I am. She said because parang lage daw ako nasa US.. I told her that was just trainings. She asked me again why not mag apply daw ako and dun na mag work. I said, if an opportunity knocks, why not! But right now, it is not in my priority. I am happy here in the Philippines where I am with my family and dogs. My hubby working abroad is quite enough. If only theres a choice, I'd begged my husband to be here na lang and stay but sayang ang work and kita nya.

Besides, hindi din naman ganun kadali mag work abroad. Some people will think masarap ang buhay sa ibang bansa but I can say it is not! Mahirap ang buhay sa ibang bansa. One is lucky if they'd found work in the US because it is a democratic and free country. But think about what is happening now in Egypt. Paano na ang mga Pilipinong na trap sa gulo dun ngayon? How about our Middle East OFWs? We don't know gaano ang hirap nila na dinaranas for dollars na kikitain while away from their families.

I do think na although sige ang pagtaas ng mga bilihin sa Pinas at paglubog ng ekonomiya, kung magsisipag lang at magtutulungan, I still think I can raise a good family in the Philippines. At this point in my life, I believe family is more important than money.

How about you? What are your priorities in life right now? Whether it be Love, Friendship, Work, Family, Health or Money, please do let me know and share it in the comment box below.

Who cares baby! I wanna marry you!.. ♥

Hellloooo!!! It's me! I'm back.

Loading New, Exciting Life. Please Stand By.

It's been a month since my last post. A lot has happened lately that I just didn't had the time to blog. I even contemplated on closing this blog but since my Google account automatically renewed my domain subscription for a year, I have no other choice but to keep my space on the web alive and running.

I might be posting some back logs for the coming days. Picture updates on me and why I allowed cyber cobwebs on my blog. And I also would like to tell you something very exciting I did before the new year 2011 started. Sometimes on the way to whats supposed to happen something even better happens.

Last month, I posted on my Facebook status...... "I read somewhere that if you wished for something hard enough with all your heart, the universe will conspire to make it come true. But I also believe that everything happens for a reason in His perfect time." So I let Him take charge of my life and surrendered everything in His plans.

Nasal Congestion? Unclogged in 5 minutes with Drixine!

First of all, I need to apologize to my avid followers who have constantly been searching for news about me in this blog. Yeah yeah, I was busy... I was busy making myself busy. ^^  To tell you honestly, the inspiration to write and share was very hard to find during my down and heartbroken times. I even contemplated if it would be easier to finally shut down this blog. But the answer finally came last Monday when I received an invite to attend one event.

It was an event for Drixine Nasal Spray Decongestant. My mind and heart has been clogged by all negative and melancholic thoughts since Sweetypie♥ left that it affected my altruism and positivity in life. And as I've mentioned before, I always try to not vent my frustrations on this blog.  When I read the invite to Drixine Nasal Decongestant, it's like a sign telling me to de-clogged my burdened heart and put all faith in Him. The event also lets the participants ride the ziplines at Zoom Tree Top Adventure. Mind you, I am afraid of heights but I confirmed right away that I will be joining. It will be fun to try zipline even for just once.

The event was held in Zoom Tree Top Adventure at Circulo Verde, Quezon City. I was really running a little late since I had to rush MoiMoi, my Shih Tzu to the vet. I will tell you more about that in a separate post. So then I took a cab ride to the venue. The venue was not that hard to find. Just go straight Calle Industria near Eastwood City and you will find an open field somewhat being developed into a posh subdivision.

So here I am, in a new event. Met some new acquaintances and bonding with bloggers Jeff, Carl,  Jeman, Anton and Alex. It was a very fun event. We experienced the adrenaline rush. The ziplines rides are very fast!!! Much like how Drixine Nasal Spray unclogs stuffy nose. Quick, Fast and Easy!

Click HERE to see a video of me screaming for my dear life riding this Silver Surfer zipline.
Yes, It's Sam YG!
Before, whenever I have colds I just use menthol rubs or a menthol inhaler to relieve swelling and clogged airways. This is a little awkward since you need to whip out the inhaler from time to time to de-clogged runny nose. But seeing that there is a new product out there that gives relief in as little as 5 minutes, I became interested to know more.

Mr. Raphael "Affie" Carpio- Brand Manger for Drixine gave a brief overview on what is Drixine while Dra. Natividad Almazan (Ears, Nose and Throat Specialist) gave a discussion about the components of Drixine such as Oxymetazoline and how very convenient a quick relief can be obtained in using the product. The event was hosted by Sam YG.

I never heard of Drixine before much less a nasal spray. How do you administer that? Isn't it awkward to do? Alex, another blogger volunteered to do a demo on how to properly use the nasal spray. And yes, it was less than 5 minutes and she felt already the effect of the medicine.
Drixine Nasal Spray is a decongestant that provides fast relief from clogged nose associated with colds, sinusitis, hay fever and other respiratory allergies in as little as five minutes. It contains 0.05% Oxymetazoline, an acting ingredient proven to decrease the inflammation and swelling of the nasal passage allowing air to pass freely. Drixine is the newest product from MSD Consumer Care.

On next post, I shared some funny videos of myself trying to conquer my fear of heights. ^^

Nativity Scene

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard. During the night the folks came across this scene. An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep. He chose Jesus as his comfort. No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.

We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time. No one mentioned that this dog's breed is a "Shepherd!"

This is too sweet not to share.

Why Is Everyone Putting Up Cartoon Profile Photos On FACEBOOK?

This campaign is to support the awareness on violence against children. The typical posts from the campaign reads:
"Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday, Dec 6, there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories!
I have been having a great time recalling the cartoons and anime tv shows I grew up with. My profile pic is Rogue of Xmen series. I keep seeing alot of Naruto and other anime.

UPDATE: Another viral rumored started circulating the Facebook world that this stunt was started by a group of Pedophiles to lure children to accept their friend invites when they see cartoon pictures. Which is apparently NOT TRUE!!!.  Click here.

Wait for Me (Lyrics)

Have you ever been far away from your love one that you find it hard to go on everyday without them? I experienced that when i was a kid... My mom had to send me somewhere far to study. I had to endure crying every night to sleep and wishing the days would go faster. And when after a very looooong time of not seeing someone you love then you see them again. You lock them in a very tight embrace and crying and wishing that they'll never have to go away and be far from you anymore.

I would probably be experiencing the same feelings when Sweetiepie♥ finally comes home. I miss him so much everyday that I wanted to pick him out from my dreams and hug him tight.  I soooo wish he is thinking of me and missing me too. I imagine him while listening to this song. When I accompanied him to the airport last July 22, he hugged me so tight and kissed me twice while whispering .... "Wait for me" ...... I was trying to be strong and forcing myself not to cry. I wouldn't want him to cry too. He told me to wait for him.... and I will.  (Now I am crying! T_T)

"But it helps me on those lonely nights...
It's that one thing that keeps me alive...
Knowing that you wait for me...
Ever so patiently."

Seeing this compilation of homecoming videos made me cry. T_T

Wait for Me -
Theory of A Deadman

You are not alone tonight
Imagine me there by your side
It's so hard to be here so far away from you
I'm counting the days till
I'm finally done
I'm counting them down, yeah, one by one
It feels like forever till I return to you
But it helps me on those lonely nights
It's that one thing that keeps me alive

[Chorus:]
Knowing that you wait for me
Ever so patiently
No one else knows the feeling inside
We hang up the phone without saying goodnight
Because it's the sound of your voice that brings me home
It's never been easy to say
But it's easier when I've gone away

[Chorus:]
Knowing that you wait for me
Ever so patiently
Yeah, you're everything I've ever dreamed of having and
It's everything I need from you just knowing that you wait for me

[Bridge:]
What I'd give
What I'd do
Knowing I'm not there for you
Makes it so hard to leave
What I'd give
What I'd do
Anything to get me home to you
And this time I'll stay
And you wait for me
Ever so patiently
Yeah, you're everything I've ever dreamed of having and
It's everything I need from you just knowing that you wait for me

I'm Back!!! What have you been up to?

Welcome back to me! Yey!.... After months of hiatus and not blogging... I am now going out in the sunshine again and embracing the world. Meeting friends and attending events. Yeah, it's been a long 2 months since I last blogged. I really had to pause for a while since I refused to flood my blog with alot of anti social, senti and emo moments. I would like my blog to be something that can inspire people to live a happy life and be always thankful for each day.

"Mas madaling ngumiti kahit hindi ka masaya kaysa magpaliwanag kung bakit malungkot ka..."

Yeah, that was somehow what I have been feeling. I lost my inspiration to write and share meaningful ideas because I was feeling empty. Sweetypie♥ had to work abroad for 10-months and I suffered emotional heartbreak everytime I try to think of him. Good thing the same day he left, I got MoiMoi. My Shih Tzu. This little puppy gave me smile and support these trying times. It was hard being away with a loved one whom stayed with you through thick and thin and through PMS and bitchyness. Sweetypie♥'s being away made me realize how important he is to me and how I am very lucky to have such a very wonderful person for 7 years!
"My loneliness is killing me .....and I ....
I must confess  i still believe...
When I'm not with you I loose my mind..
Gimme a siiiiignnnn..... Hit me baby one more time. "

I'd like to share some tidbits of what I have been up to.

1. I now have 2 dogs a labrador named Bachie which is with my mom and Bro at Cavite and a Shih Tzu my fiancee bought me as a companion while he is away. Bachie is already 2 years old and I am researching on how to breed dogs. I might be sharing stuffs I learned on the process here in my blog.

2. Yes, you heard it right. Sweetypie♥ is now my fiancee and although we had some small talks before, we just made it official 2 months ago before he left and told me to wait for him. When he gets back, we will be tying the knot. I already told my mom and she is happy about it. She said it's about time. It will not be a grand wedding because I prefer the simple civil one. It will be the happiest day of my life shared with only the special people I can't live without. I found out that it takes alot of researching to make a wedding happen. Sweetypie♥ still mentioned having a Church wedding eventually when we finally saved enough for one. I might be sharing a few more stuffs about this.

3. My Shih Tzu is now 6 months old and is a very playful and sweet puppy. As I mentioned he kept me company all those nights when I was crying myself to sleep and wishing Sweetypie♥ was here. A dog is the Only Thing that loves you more than you love yourself. That is true! I would eventually be sharing some funny anecdotes of why I love MoiMoi.

4. I am now going out and reaching my friends like Sub and Charm for kwentuhan blues and Movie marathons so I have some pending Movie Reviews to post.

5. I also went back to reading and would like to share with you my pathetic insights on novels and books I read these months.

How about you? What have you been up to lately?

Postcripts To A BloodBath... Aug. 23, 2010 Quirino Grandstand Bus Hostage Drama

I would like to share an article circulating online on facebook and blogs. I am not sure if this one is authentic and if Mr. Bang Lu Min really exist as one of the survivors..... But what the heck.... read on and feel the goosebumps.... (the same goosebumps I felt when I heard Ms. Venus Raj's Major Major! ^_^ )

Mr. Mendoza was already upset even before he saw on television what the policemen did to his brother. The other tourists who remained inside the bus were complaining. Wei Ji Jiang wanted to go to the bathroom. Dao Chi Yu was hungry and the rest were just groaning and whining like they have forgotten that our lives rest in Mr. Mendoza's hands. The hostage taker, as you know him was really nice. He treated us okay and even let the elders and the children leave the bus. He said your policemen treated him unfairly. He was a policeman too and was accused of doing something he had no knowledge of. But your government didn't listen so he used us to get everyone's attention.
Things would have never turned for the worst if he didn't see how his family was dragged out of their house and taken into custody. He was watching the news all the time as we huddled around each other behind the bus. He shouted some words in your language then started shooting in the air. A girl about my age started screaming. Mr. Mendoza demanded her to stop but she didn't understand English. God, he had to slash her neck with a knife just to put her to rest. Her boyfriend who tried to hit him was shot in the head. Tension was rising. You can see in his face how scared and confused he was.
The bus driver ran away leaving him alone with strangers from a distant land. I can see him walking across the aisle, sometimes pointing his machine gun to one of the tourists. But he tried his best not to hurt us, especially those who really cooperate. I guess its in your nature not to inflict pain on others unless it was necessary. I remember him saying that he will free us before sundown and implored us to forget everything when we return home. But his words don't matter now. The policemen were trying to force their way in, while we all lied down to shield ourselves from bullets. Mister Mendoza blindly shoots at his enemies which I think kept them from rescuing us. I hear sobs under the chairs. Some were even shouting the names of their loved ones even when the air merely eat their words. Kevin Tang tried to escape when the glass door was was shattered, but one shot and he slumped on the floor with blood gushing from his mouth. Heavy rain pitter-pattered on the rooftop. In old Chinese saying, it means an end to a struggle.
Finally, somebody was able to open the escape hatch at the back of the bus. Freedom. But I knew Mister Mendoza was still alive. I knew he was just waiting for a chance to strike back at his enemies. So I told those around me not to escape. Let the authorities come for us instead. Then there was gunfire. He was firing at his enemies with a machine gun. Those who were at the escape hatch fled abandoning us once again. It's like a nightmare with no end and to wake up means a certain death.
Then somebody from outside the bus threw a canister. It forced out a black smoke that is so painful to the eyes and putrid smelling to the nose. People started screaming. We cannot breathe. Some ran in front of the bus but Mister Mendoza warned them of stray bullets. It was too late. One was hit on the head, the other was hit on the shoulders. Bullets were now flying. Its like the authorities thought we were all dead. Mister Mendoza finally admits his mistake and said sorry to everyone, dead or alive. He then ran towards the front of the bus where he would meet his maker. As he passed by my chair with bullets whistling overhead, I clutched my hand on the velvet curtain and wrapped it around my face. All I could think of was to stay alive - for my child who is waiting for me back in Xinjang. I know I will survive, I will come home.

I found a very gruesome picture of how the hostage taker's life ended.....

Very disturbing........
When you see it.... You'll Shit Brix!

Lady Soldiers Dancing to Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend: Hot or Not?

I never realized how hot a girl with an assault rifle and body armor could be. These lady Israeli soldiers in full combat gear are dancing to Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend. Guys, would you want them as girlfriends?

Twilight vs. Vampire Chronicles

...Vampires became glittering woodland fairies, while Werewoles became big huggable Siberian dogs!
Vampire Mania much!....How do today’s blood suckers stack up to those from the past, like Dracula, Angel, Viktor, Akasha and Lestat? I say, Edward and the Cullens are losers. Glittery vampires?!...
For starters, I am an Anne Rice fan but that didn't stop me from buying the Twilight series written by Stephanie Meyer. I have read the Twilight series. Grueling all four books! It came to me as boring while I found the Vampire Chronicles exceptionally beautiful written literature. Once you get hold of a Vampire Chronicles novel, you will get transported to a different world and a Millenia of history.
Queen Akasha and Lestat
The Vampire Chronicles have original and interesting main storyline(s) plus many, many interesting and colourful histories on the side. Such the story of Louis and Claudia, then Lestat becoming a rock star for the fun of breaking the rules as extremely as possible and happens to wake the vampire queen. And as for the "side storylines", more or less side those of as in fact these are the very bases to the other ones; Lestat's entire mortal life, his and Nicolas's story, the story of the Twins, Marius's story... There's so much and indepth in the Chronicles and it all links together in one way or another.
Bella and Edward
While Twilight is a teen fanfiction and less thought written by an inexperienced writer as compared to Anne Rice. There is only one storyline about an impossible high school romance between a human-ordinary-always-smirking-girl and a "vegan" vampire.

With all these hype in Manila about Twilight: Eclipse movie showing and getting blockbuster all time high... I can't help but feel dismayed. I want my vamps bloodthirsty, scary and evil and not de-masculinized! Edward looks gay in glitters! That reminds me, I need to finish Sophie K's novels and go back to Anne Rice's. oh why! Why did she have to become spiritually awakened and stop writing dark gothic literatures!? I like her evil.
